Azienda Agricola Labonia

The Labonia farm is located in Cropalati, an ancient Calabrian village in the province of Cosenza, and extends over 25 hectares of family-owned olive groves between the Sila plateau and the Ionian Sea. Olive oil production in this land dates back to the 8th century BC, when Calabria was part of Magna Graecia. Pliny wrote: "the olive oil of Brutium is of excellent quality and reasonable prices," and this as far back as the 1st century BC! Today, siblings Isabella and Raffaele, the third generation of olive growers, have given new impetus to the production of their strictly organic extra virgin olive oil, obtained exclusively from the milling of cold-pressed olives within 8 hours of harvest in a modern facility powered by a photovoltaic system. The farm is also equipped with technology to convert processing waste into biomass. All this reflects an extreme attention to the quality of the oil, the well-being of consumers and respect for the land.
