The Labonia farm is located in Cropalati, an ancient village in Calabria, in the province of Cosenza, and covers 25 hectares of family-owned olive groves between the Sila plateau and the Ionian Sea. Olive oil production in this land dates back to the 8th century BC, when Calabria was part of Magna Graecia. Pliny wrote: "the olive oil of Brutium is of excellent quality and reasonable prices," and this as early as the 1st century BC! Today, siblings Isabella and Raffaele, the third generation of olive growers in the family, have given new impetus to the production of their strictly organic extra virgin olive oil, obtained exclusively from cold-pressed olives milled within 8 hours of harvesting in a modern facility powered by a photovoltaic system. The farm is also equipped to convert processing waste into biomass, reflecting its extreme attention to the quality of the oil, the well-being of consumers, and respect for the land.
