Tenuta Il Corno

Tenuta Il Corno

At Il Corno you can enjoy a past whose precious memory has been preserved, thanks to a restoration of the Estate that lets it live "naturally," with the Farmhouse's layout still authentic. Martino Bessi, the commercial soul of the company, welcomes us and literally lets us into the world, a world that today, as in the past, is made up of people who don't just work there but live the company and live within it; the sense of belonging is extremely strong. Crossing the threshold of the farmhouse, entering the entrance hall, the walls proudly display certificates from the Fascist era, when it was olive oil, not wine, that was required to be cultivated according to the dictates of the time. After the fall of Fascism, wine gained more and more "ground" and importance, until today, more than ever, it expresses its character and its distinctive qualities. The soils on which these ancient vineyards stand - because that's what they are, ancient vineyards, therefore low yield but great expression - are made of clay and stone, left behind by the sea as it withdrew millions of years ago; visiting the company's cellars, it is even possible to see the subsoil where the vines grow. Production ranges from white wines to IGT reds to the pure Colorino, the true jewel in the company's crown, produced in Italy by only two wineries.
