The Azienda La Rachilana is located in an area in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, a highly esteemed area with a long history of winemaking. Here, for generations, the Marengo family has carried on the vineyard work with dedication, commitment and respect for the land, and it is here that the Spumante Alta Langa D.O.C.G. is produced. We are now at the third generation of a family story that began in 1964 when, after years of hard work as sharecroppers, grandfather Bartolomeo decided to open his own business. Yet the values have always remained the same: to produce a good, genuine quality wine. Generation after generation, everyone takes part in the work at the winery with passion and attachment to their land. Here a careful selection of the best grapes is made to produce wines that are faithful to the importance of quality rather than quantity. The winery takes part in the âThe Green Experienceâ project, where respect for the environment is essential and herbicides and insecticides have been eliminated. Alta Langa DOCG is the brut sparkling wine of Piedmont. A denomination with a limited production and a very long history: it was the first classic method sparkling wine to be produced in Italy, dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, in the "Underground Cathedrals" now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
