With pride, Walter Lenzi explained to me that "Corzano 1985" is a farmhouse brewery in the Mugello area, and that part of the barley used for brewing is grown right on the farm. The story behind the brewery project is a recent one, born in December 2014, but Walter told me that his passion for beer is something that developed over the years, starting from early homebrewing experiments until it took shape and became a reality, an adventure to share with his friend Marco. The brewery has a fine 1,000-litre plant and has developed four beautiful, colourful labels: the Corzanina, named after a breed of hen, a pale beer inspired by Belgian Saisons; the Limousine, named after a breed of cattle originally from France, an amber beer inspired by IPA (Indian Pale Ale); the Bobo, a porter; and the San Isidro, named after the patron saint of the countryside, a dubbel. All well worth trying, in a crescendo of sensations ranging from vegetal notes to citrus and liquorice. At the brewery, you can feel a genuine atmosphere, typical of the Mugello area, where producers express their attachment to their own land through the pleasure of still working hands-on, thereby ensuring control over and a guarantee of a quality product.
