Perlage Winery
The story of Perlage Winery began in 1985, when the 7 Nardi siblings, together with their father Tiziano and mother Afra, decided to embark on the adventure of organic farming and viticulture, starting from Riva Moretta, the historic vineyard at the heart of Prosecco Superiore Docg. A choice that has led Perlage to become, today, one of the most renowned organic wine producers in Veneto, as well as one of the few companies producing organic Prosecco DOCG within the Consorzio di Tutela del Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene. The Perlage Winery cellar can offer you a good bottle of organic wine, which is like a beautiful woman without makeup. Don't accuse me of sexism right away — I could just as well say a handsome man, but I prefer the metaphor of the woman without makeup. In organic wine production, in fact, there are no "tricks", meaning no sulfites, which help protect and preserve first the must and then the wine. To make a good organic wine, everything starts with the planning of the vineyard, whose rows, never too narrow, are arranged in harmony with the land to allow water, sun and the vineyard's natural inhabitants (small creatures and microorganisms) to create the perfect microclimate for the grapes, without the need for chemical fertilizers or systemic pesticides. This means that a properly managed organic vineyard requires twice the work, and the wine yield is considerably lower. If you're good, very good, the result is a product that is extremely rich in terms of health benefits, aroma and flavor. The Nardi family knows this well — true pioneers and masters of organic farming — who, with their beautiful "Perlage Winery" cellar, have pursued since far-off 1985 the ideal of harmony between environmental sustainability, the health of consumers and of workers in the vineyard and cellar, the promotion of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hill area, and the production of excellent, interesting Prosecco DOC and DOCG wines as well as good table wines.
