Colorino is a native grape variety, genetically a descendant of Sangiovese. It is a grape with a very small berry, which leads to very low yields. On the Il Corno estate, an estate clone has been discovered deriving from ungrafted 19th-century vines, which allows Colorino to be vinified even as a single varietal. It produces an impenetrable red wine of extreme longevity: it can age in the bottle for 20-30 years without problems. A very complex, harmonious yet well-balanced wine.

Description

TASTING NOTES: Colour: very intense, deep, dark ruby red with blue hues Nose: the aroma is broad, complex, fruity with notes of red fruit reminiscent of the Italian undergrowth, where blackberry stands out, highlighting countless tertiary aromas that elegantly touch on hints of pepper, tobacco, cocoa bean, leather, oak. The note of leather and vanilla is elegant. Palate: soft, lively, moderately tannic, balanced, elegant and persistent. Pairings: This is a meditation wine that pairs well with red meats, furred game and aged cheeses. But above all, it pairs with good company. This wine offers sensations of great Tuscan character.
