We are in Tuscany, in the Siena countryside, where the Tenuta di Montechiaro estate, purchased by the family since the 17th century, dominates the territory with 160 hectares of land, 10 of which are under vine, producing the finest wines that express the local terroir: this is where Supertuscan Arteliquida Rosso is born

Supertuscan Arteliquida Rosso

Art meets wine. Translating into the best expression, one for the other. The rare Malvasia Nera grape variety from a single vineyard meets the contemporary work of Sienese artist Eugenia Vanni. In her work, the artist presents a mosaic blade to signify the indissoluble bond between nature and humanity. An expression of age-old knowledge of the influence of the lunar phases on the winemaking process. We embrace an organic philosophy. We are dedicated to the careful selection of native vines. Our goal is in fact quality, which we always favour. Arteliquida is a project that unites art with wine. Here, oenological research and artistic expression come together in unison.

Technical sheet: Arteliquida

Our small cru enhances the varietal characteristics of Tempranillo, known as Malvasia Nera in Tuscany, presenting a unique freshness and a minerality typical of the Chianti terroir. GRAPES: 100% Malvasia Nera (Tempranillo) VINEYARD: La Scuola, planted in 2002, Single Vineyards 1.7 hectares. Organic Farming certified since 2010. SOIL: Clay-limestone and sedimentary sand with marine fossils and shells. VINIFICATION AND AGEING Harvest method: Manual, in small crates. Immediate destemming and gentle pressing. Skin maceration: 15 days in concrete tanks. Fermentation: 10 days in steel tanks. Ageing: 18 months in lightly toasted Tonneaux (500-litre French oak barrels) plus a further 6 months in bottle. TASTING NOTES Colour: Brilliant ruby colour with violet hues. Aromas: On the nose, a bouquet of dark cherry, black pepper, liquorice and hyacinth, with delicate balsamic notes. Taste: On the palate it is flavourful and tannic, with a pleasant smoothness and a fluid acidity. Serving temperature: 18 °C FOOD PAIRINGS The Malvasia Nera grape has a very strong personality, so it is only thanks to our interpretation that it can express a fresh, unique elegance, balancing acidity with its substantial body. It pairs well with black pepper salami. Excellent with truffle pecorino. A first course of rabbit ragù with aromatic herbs. With meat: tartare with quail egg, lamb ribs, pork fillet, Florentine steak.   Â
