There's a lot of talk these days about Italian breweries and microbreweries, an ever-growing trend involving young entrepreneurs and successful brands. Not all of them, however, can boast the quality offered by Birrificio Valdarno Superiore. This brewery, founded in 2013 and located in Località Malafrasca, in the Valdarno area, has two founding partners. Young, cheerful and determined, their beer holds a secret: the water. Indeed, BVS is one of the few Italian breweries that draws directly from the extremely pure water table beneath the brewery, springs known first to the Etruscans and later to the Romans. None of their products contain artificial flavorings or preservatives, resulting in a beer that combines innovation and tradition. It's hard to recommend just one beer in particular—it's even harder to resist trying them all.
