Manna has been known and appreciated since ancient times. Many virtues were attributed to it in antiquity. Healthy and natural. Usually added to water or milk. Often used as an intestinal regulator. Suitable for all ages, from infancy, to expectant mothers, to the elderly. To obtain manna, the ash tree is cultivated. Today cultivation for this purpose covers a very limited area in the municipalities of Castelbuono and Pollina, in the province of Palermo. Manna is obtained by making incisions in ash trees and letting the sap solidify. From the incisions in the trees, the sap flows out and settles on the trunk. On contact with air it slowly solidifies.
