This wine is obtained from grapes harvested late, which are placed on racks in well-ventilated rooms in order to achieve a high sugar concentration. Production area: Vallescura locality, municipality of Lerma (Alessandria) Cru: Cortese 50% â Sauvignon 50% Altitude above sea level: 290 Sun exposure: south Training system: guyot Soil: tuffaceous Year planted: approx. 15 years Harvest: between the first and second ten-day period of September, but is picked late during the second ten-day period Winemaking: grape withering, pressing and slow fermentation in oak barrels Ageing: three years in barrique Alcohol content: 143% vol The alcohol content may vary in percentage depending on the vintage according to the climatic trend.
