List of products by supplier Rosa di Magliano

For almost fifteen years, the company has been growing roses to produce petal syrups and preserves, with a rose garden of about 400 “Rosa di Magliano” plants. There are also olive trees, a few fruit trees—quince in particular—and several wild bramble bushes from which they harvest a small quantity of blackberries. The house and land are located in the hills of Chianti, in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the small hamlet of Magliano, with a beautiful view over the Agliena valley and the hill of Petrognano, the ancient city of Semifonte destroyed by the Florentines in the Middle Ages. Most of the cultivation consists of what the company has named “Rosa di Magliano”. Over the years, other varieties have also been tested, such as “Charles de Mills”, “De la Maître École”, and Rosa gallica “Officinalis”, but none have managed to surpass the intensity and freshness of the “Rosa di Magliano” scent, even though they contribute interesting depth to the color of the syrup and preserves. I admit it: when it comes to roses, I'm quite biased. The scent of roses has always intoxicated me and warmed my heart, ever since I was a little girl, when I would smell it on my mother's cheeks (she used rose water to remove her makeup). Having been passionate about this flower for years, my nose has become very sensitive—so much so that it can easily detect artificial rose scent. So it only took getting close to Isabella's syrup for me to realize I was in the presence of a scent that was not only enveloping, but TRUE. A scent born from years of experimentation, from careful and environmentally respectful cultivation, from the loving care taken in preparing the petals (the “de-petaling” process is a delicate and painstaking task). Isabella's passion, which runs in her Genoese DNA, is fully transformed into rose syrups and preserves with an unmistakable fragrance.
