Fig and Liquorice

In the Valle dei Crati in Calabria, in the Cosentino area, the Biocariglialto company grows its orchards, aromatic plants and vegetable gardens, all strictly in keeping with the natural times and rhythms of nature. Here, thanks to the particular soil and climate conditions that have existed for centuries, the Fico Dottato (Dottato fig) has found its natural habitat, a true excellence of the territory thanks to its characteristics: it is indeed very sweet, with small seeds and soft flesh. Here, Fichi e Liquirizia (Fig and Liquorice) is produced. The company works according to certified organic procedures, using neither pesticides nor chemical fertilisers, respecting the rhythms of nature and the value of human labour. The fruit is harvested at just the right degree of ripeness and processed in the workshop through artisanal methods, controlling the entire production cycle. The company has developed a true specialisation in Figs and produces jams using Dottato figs with the addition of other products and essences, all made in-house, to create jams with unique and surprising flavours, free from colourings, additives and preservatives. The certified organic Fig and Liquorice jam uses only beet sugar, pink grapefruit juice and liquorice, produced and processed in-house. The term âExtraâ guarantees 84% fruit pieces. Perfect paired with meats, for breakfasts, desserts and tarts.
