Leccino Tiberi Extra Virgin Olive Oil

We are in the hills of the Marche region, in the province of Macerata. Here the family grows the Leccino, Coroncina and Piantone di Mogliano olive varieties. A territory that has stood out for its policies of environmental and soil protection and for enhancing the typicity of its products. Among the Adriatic regions, Marche is the northernmost region where olive trees are the main tree crop. The region benefits from temperatures that are neither very high nor extremely low throughout the year, resulting in excellent polyphenol content in the oils produced. The extra virgin olive oil from Marche is an excellent seasoning to enhance the flavour of dishes, and at the same time it is healthy and nutritious. It is a food rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants. What makes it special? Like the quality extra virgin olive oil produced in the various Italian regions, the extra virgin olive oil from Marche stands out for its uniqueness. Its organoleptic characteristics are the result of a perfect mix of terroir, breezy climate, sun exposure and native olive varieties.

Oil production

In Marche, extra virgin olive oil is produced using traditional methods. Olives are still harvested by hand or with the help of equipment that respects the fruit. Within a few hours of harvesting, the olives are pressed at the mill to guarantee maximum freshness and quality of the oil.

The Leccino variety

The Leccino olive variety is characterised by fruit colour ranging from green to raven black. It is an olive with a dual purpose. Widespread throughout the Marche region. Flesh consistency and resistance to detachment are at intermediate levels and progressively decrease with ripening. The drupe size is about 2-2.5 g. The optimal harvest period falls in the first half of December for quantitative purposes and by mid-November for qualitative purposes.
