Regalpetra is the name that writer Leonardo Sciascia used to call the town of Racalmuto, in the province of Agrigento, from whose rock salt mines the purest whole salt is extracted, which the company
Sapori di Regalpetra, founded right next to the quarry, uses to create its own specialities, original and genuine products this is how
Regalpetra whole salt came to be.
In the workshop just steps from the quarry,
flavoured salts are made, along with all-natural
powders and
dressings, wonderfully fragrant and aromatic. The brothers Carmelo and Giuseppe Brucculeri managed, first for their own enjoyment and then out of passion, to capture and express in their products what Sicily is immensely rich in:
intoxicating scents and aromas.
The product line has gradually grown richer with unique flavours and original aromas. Hence the rock salts with lemon,
Nubia garlic, pink pepper and mandarin, or with
Nero d'Avola grape marc.
As well as the
natural powders of:
capers, orange and cinnamon, wild fennel, lemon and ginger.
Regalpetra whole salt
The company produces a whole salt that is a
particularly flavourful salt. This is thanks to the presence of potassium and magnesium.
Compared to whole sea salt, it is
naturally dry, so it flows more easily and is more pleasant to look at and touch. Preserved for
6 million years in the heart of Sicily, protected from any form of pollution, the salt has retained intact the
qualities of the original Mediterranean waters.
The whole salt is not subjected to any chemical treatment or bleaching and is free of additives.
A completely natural product! And rich in minerals. Rock salt is a mineral formed in prehistoric eras from the retreat and drying up of ancient
seas and salt lakes, which left behind
beds of sodium chloride (that is, salt)
of the purest kind.
The possible presence of
dark crystals is a sign of the product's naturalness.
