"Tonda di Giffoni" Chopped Hazelnut Cream

The Chopped Hazelnut Cream by Azienda Agricola Grimaldi is made with "Tonda di Giffoni" cultivar hazelnuts, characterised by the perfectly round shape of the kernel (the shelled hazelnut), which has a firm white flesh with an aromatic flavour, covered by a thin, easily removable brown perisperm (the skin). Grimaldi grows its hazelnuts without the use of fungicides, herbicides, or synthetic additives. The soil is fertilised with organic substances and irrigated with uncontaminated spring water; it is also fitted with nets that ensure the absolute integrity of the fruit, preventing contact with the ground. Drying takes place in the sun on metal nets that guarantee adequate ventilation. Finally, the product is packaged by hand without the use of additives or preservatives. Eating hazelnuts helps protect against arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, thanks to a concentration of reserve substances (lipids) rich in monounsaturated fats, such as oleic acid, which greatly helps to limit blood cholesterol levels. Moreover, the "Tonda di Giffoni" chopped hazelnut cream contains vitamins E, B, C, as well as minerals such as iron, copper, zinc, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, and selenium, essential for the proper functioning of the cellular system. Furthermore, the presence of a good amount of potassium makes hazelnuts particularly suitable for the diet of pregnant women.
