We are in the province of Arezzo, home to the Birrificio Valdarno Superiore “BVS” an artisan brewery producing top-fermented beers inspired by its local territory. The production uses the finest selected raw materials, and it is here that Birra Cetica Strong Ale is made. Alongside the love for their homeland, Tuscany, crafting artisan beers requires a passion for beer itself. Beer with no compromises and no added flavourings or preservatives. The company has a small secret for making its products: water. It has its own private well drawing directly from the purest water aquifers beneath the brewery, fed by local springs. Here the water drawn is particularly hard, rich in minerals. This characteristic helps the yeasts during fermentation, a key element in producing a quality craft beer.
Strong Ale made with premium malts, organic spelt and red potato from Cetica. The potato starch gives the beer minerality and an elegantly high alcohol content. Golden blonde beer at 7° Alc., bottle-conditioned. Pils and Pale malts combined with Cetica red potato, which contributes its sweet starches, give a unique minerality and alcohol strength. White, creamy foam with the right persistence, typical Ale carbonation. The potato gives mineral and savoury notes, while the sweetness of the malt combined with that of the potato is balanced by the hops. Aromatically, lovely notes of exotic fruit and honey, while on the palate we find the bitterness of noble hops that give an elegant sensation. Alcohol content: 7% vol Fermentation type: top-fermented, bottle-conditioned Colour SRM: 5 Bitterness index: IBU 39 Type: Strong Ale Glass: Pint Serving temperature: 8° – 9° Food pairing: excellent with aged cheeses and cured or smoked meats.
