We are in the province of Arezzo, home to the Birrificio Valdarno Superiore âBVSâ a craft brewery producing top-fermented beers inspired by its own territory; the production uses the finest selected raw materials, and it is here that Birra Pratomagno Strong Ale is brewed. Besides a love for their own land, Tuscany, making craft beers also requires a passion for beer. Beer with no compromises and no added flavourings or preservatives. To make its products, the company has a small secret: water. It in fact has a private well drawing directly from the aquifers of extremely pure water beneath the brewery, fed by local springs. Here the water is particularly hard and rich in minerals. A characteristic that helps the yeasts in their fermentation and a key element for producing a quality craft beer.
Here the Master Brewer expresses his creativity and dares with special malts and characterful hops. Here nature is generous with the precious mountain herbs of Pratomagno. A land known for its monasteries which have for centuries kept alive the skilled use of mountain herbs and flowers. A red beer with amber highlights, made with Pale Malts and special malts and a single hop variety (Single Hop) and flavoured with the wild herbs of Pratomagno: lemon balm and thyme. Fine ivory-white foam, English Ale-style carbonation. On the nose, notes of the herbs used. On the palate: malt, honey and caramel. Low bitterness and medium body, nicely balanced. Excellent drinkability. Alcohol content: 6.5% Vol. Fermentation type: top fermentation, bottle-refermented Colour: SRM 13.4 Bitterness index: IBU 20 Type: Strong Ale Food-beer pairing: cured meats and spicy dishes.
