the wines of the Baglio Baiata Alagna winery convey the tradition and love for their own land. 50 hectares of land divided into various plots between Marsala, Mazara, Trapani and Salemi. The Grillo D.O.C. is a fresh table wine with intense aromas, made from Grillo grapes grown in the Marsala and Mazara del Vallo area. Grillo is a native white grape variety found mainly in the Marsala area, thriving in sandy, arid, sun-exposed soils that give it a rather high sugar content. Made purely from Grillo grapes, it immediately shows its liveliness in colour and in its tropical aroma reminiscent of mango and papaya, with hints of hay and white flowers. Harmonious in taste and lightly tannic. Perfect with fish starters, first courses and fish main courses, it also pairs well with white meats and cured meats.
It is a fresh wine with intense aromas, pairing pleasantly with fish and lean cheeses. Serve at 8-10° C Grape varieties: Grillo Growing area: Marsala and Mazara del Vallo Training system: Marsala-style bush training or spur cordon, dry farmed Colour: Intense straw yellow Aroma: Delicately fruity, varietal Taste: Fresh and structured, harmonious Alcohol content: 12.5° vol Awards â Awards 2005 â DiWineTaste
