Saffron honey infusion

A unique product born from the collaboration between Zafferano dell'Agro and Mieli dall'Agro, a 100% made in Italy honey brand, produced in the Agro Nocerino Sarnese area. The saffron from the Azienda Agricola Zafferano dell'Agro farm is grown using an innovative method called bio-sinergico-consapevole, or BSC. Bio because it gives great importance to understanding the biology of the soil, of all the organisms that inhabit it, of the plants, in a word, of the whole ecosystem. Consapevole (mindful) because it emphasises the need to always act consciously at every stage of saffron production, from cultivation to harvesting and drying. Sinergico (synergic) because the best products, respectful of the environment and our health, are born from the collaboration between nature and man. This method is inspired by values of sustainability, respect, commitment, passion and awareness. Saffron is one of the foods richest in carotenoids, which give the typical golden-yellow colour to dishes, and in vitamins A, B1 and B2. Moreover, safranal, the main organic compound responsible for saffron's aroma, can positively influence brain activity. For this reason, saffron is used in herbal medicine to treat mood disorders, as a sedative and antispasmodic with anthelmintic activity, and also as a remedy for motion sickness. This spice supports digestive functions, stimulating the digestive system and increasing the secretion of bile and gastric juices, a characteristic that explains its use in the preparation of digestive liqueurs.
