We at
Fenice put craftsmanship first, and traditional values are at the heart of our philosophy, and that's where our
BIO Chestnut Flour comes from
BIO Chestnut Flour
Chestnut flour is a
sweet,
round and velvety flour, excellent for confectionery and pastry preparations. Used in the kitchen for centuries all year round, often also for preparing savoury dishes (polenta, gnocchi, pasta). Highly
nourishing and energising, it has fed generations of people.
Chestnut flour is
rich in carbohydrates and extremely rich in minerals. It contains amino acids with high nutritional value. Fats are low and mostly "healthy", largely unsaturated. Chestnut flour made from marroni of the Tuscan Apennines.
Stone-ground with a natural millstone
(La Fertè).
Fibre, important for a balanced diet, is ten times higher than in wheat flours, and it offers polyphenols and antioxidants in quantities comparable to extra virgin olive oil.
The restoration of an
ancient natural stone mill has allowed us to produce our
nutritionally outstanding flour. Our production continues
processing methods handed down over the centuries.
Chestnut flour can also be consumed by
people with coeliac disease because in its pure form it
contains no gluten.
