Salumeria di mare is the pure expression of charcuterie and norcineria craft applied to seafood products. The company boasts a long history of well over thirty years of processing and curing the finest catch of the Mediterranean, with recipes handed down since the late 1800s from father to son, careful processing by expert hands, manual salting with Volterra Salt, and long curing: this is how these delicacies are born, and this is how the selected Red Tuna in oil is made
The Red Tuna is made using traditional methods carried out strictly by hand. Red tuna in oil is one of the renowned Sicilian excellences. It is obtained from whole fillets manually cut. A job that requires experience and skill in cutting and processing. Here, prized tuna is processed to offer a product with distinctive, high-quality characteristics. The delicatessen relies on long experience and tradition in processing seafood specialities with recipes dating back to the late 1800s. It has always selected the best catch and uses pure Volterra salt without the aid of preservatives. Once jarred, the red tuna is covered with extra virgin olive oil from organic farming. With the aim of offering, in addition to a quality product, a healthy and natural product. The oil used for the preserve does not use synthetic chemicals or GMOs.
Red tuna is a precious item in the kitchen pantry, lending itself to countless recipes and interpretations: starting with first courses, both hot and cold, single-course dishes and tasty salads.
And the oil? Nothing goes to waste: use it to dress pasta by adding a little chopped parsley and onion, perhaps with a splash of lemon or lime juice!
