The prized "Nocciola del Monviso" belongs to the Gentile Trilobata variety and grows at the foot of Monviso, in a very mild microclimate; it is characterised by its large size, and is crunchy and tasty. The fruit of the hazel tree (Corylus Avellana) is a plant native to Asia Minor and typical of the Mediterranean. It grows wild in woodlands and has been cultivated since ancient times. Italy is the second largest producer in the world, after Turkey. The main premium varieties produced are the "Tonda Gentile delle Langhe" and the "Tonda di Giffoni" from Campania. The "AgriGeuna" company grows them using organic farming methods and offers them fresh and vacuum-shelled, not roasted, keeping the thin skin that covers them, which is rich in fibre and important nutritional properties for health. They are vacuum-packed in various formats. A premium product, with important nutritional properties and an unmistakable taste.
