Here the habitat is ideal for herbs which grow vigorously and intensely scented as well as rich in aromas and intense and unique flavors.

the genre Origanum, deriva dal greco “oros”, montagna, e “ganos”, splendore, ovvero gioia della montagna, probabilmente a causa del profumo che emana il luogo dove cresce la pianta. E’ una specie erbacea con fiori riuniti a mazzetti di un bel bianco caratterizzati da un profumo molto intenso. Cresce in zone incolte, nei boschi e nelle scarpate. Se ne utilizzano le sommità fiorite. E’ utilizzato da tempi remoti, un aroma tipico della cucina mediterranea. Immancabile per flavor the pizza. Transversal to many fish and meat dishes. Excellent on focaccias, sauces and soups.

Impiegato per l’estrazione dei suoi essential oils, ricchi di terpinene, timolo e carvacrolo, l’origano è conosciuto fin dall’antichità per i suoi beneficial effects on health dell’uomo, numerose sono infatti le proprietà medicinali attribuite, tra queste: analgesiche, digestive, carminative, diuretic, toned, antiseptics, expectorant, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory.

Az. Agr. Due Palmenti si trova a 610 m slm, nel cuore della Sicilia orientale, alle falde dell’Etna, verdi colline cullate da inverni miti ed estati calde e irradiate dal soleggiate. Il terreno beneficia da elementi stratificatisi da epoche remote in occasioni delle colate laviche. Qui il giovane agronomo Martino ha scelto di dedicarsi alla coltivazione delle erbe aromatiche.  Il  suolo è particolarmente ricco e vocato alla coltivazione di erbe che grazie vicinanza con l’Etna riescono a sprigionare caratteristiche organolettiche di particolare pregio ed aromaticità.

Martino cultivates following good agricultural practices, favoring the typicality of the territory. Here given the terraced land, it is cultivated and harvested by hand and dried naturally. The selection is rich in essences fromoregano, marjoram, thyme, sage, rosemary, mint, chilli pepper, bay leaf, savory. The range of flavor enhancers to enhance the recipes.
