The Alchemist

Davide Marengo is a trained young winegrower and a profound connoisseur of his vines and his land. With enthusiasm he joined “The Green Experience”. His enthusiasm and his desire for new goals is clear from the first glance at the bottle of Barolo: it looks like an oil painting. And inside that innovative but reassuring bottle I found an excellent Barolo. The Tortonian soil of the Langhe, the area of production of Barolo, gives structure and complexity to this wine and the long aging in oak barrels gives aromas and tannins. While tasting this Barolo, vintage 2013, I felt notes of vanilla and violet, enclosed in a powerful and balanced wine. Like all well-structured wines, it goes well with red meats, game, truffle-based dishes and aged cheeses. Essential for the famous Piedmontese dish braised in Barolo.

L'La Rachilana company rises in an area in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo, a highly suited and historically important area for the production of wine. Here for generations the Marengo family has carried out the work in the vineyard with dedication, commitment and respect for the land and it is here that the Barolo Clivus DOCG

We are in the third generation of a family history born in 1964 when after years of hard work sharecropping work grandfather Bartolomeo decides to open his own company. The values, however, are always the same: produce a good genuine quality wine. From generation to generation everyone participates in the work in the company with passion and attachment to one's territory. Here a careful selection of the best grapes is made to produce their own wines faithful to the importance of quality and not quantity. The company takes part in the project “The Green Experience” where respect for the environment is fundamental and weeding and insecticides have been eliminated.

Precious and irreplaceable, the Barolo nasce sulle colline Monfortesi con la struttura, l’eleganza e il vigore che solo queste colline sanno dare. Capace di periodi prolungati di invecchiamento e sostenuto da una grande struttura, ha una richness to the tasting which makes it unique.
Aging in oak barrels broadens the body and enhances the olfactory sensations.
The length on the palate is a clear sign of the richness and value of this wine.

Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo e Barolo, sono queste le perle prodotte seguendo fedelmente una tradizione che privilegia la qualità rispetto alla quantità.
