Tenuta Gioia è stata fondata alla fine del 1800 si tramanda da quattro generazioni con la stessa passione e lo stesso amore per l’agricoltura. Per tre generazioni l’azienda si è dedicata prevalentemente alla coltivazione cerealicola (grano duro da seme, grani locali); Oggi Lucilla Gioia animata da una forte passione imprenditoriale, ha continuato la tradizione dell’antica azienda cerealicola di famiglia, integrandola con ortaggi da destinare alla produzione di conserve.
La Tenuta Gioia sorge in un suggestivo angolo nel cuore della Sicilia tra Palermo e Caltanissetta.
Il processo di produzione utilizza la tecnica della rotazione delle colture ossia l’alternarsi delle coltivazioni tra i terreni, in modo tale da non coltivare la stessa pianta nel medesimo appezzamento per troppo tempo. Generalmente, con rotazione biennale, triennale o quadriennale. Lo scopo è quello di risanare la fertilità del suolo, il controllo delle piante infestanti, evitando l’utilizzo di prodotti chimici ad azione fitosanitaria.
Tutte le nostre materie prime sono coltivate a campo aperto, la raccolta degli ortaggi e della frutta è, esclusivamente, eseguita a mano e nella stessa giornata, dopo un’accurata selezione, la lavorazione dei prodotti è realizzata seguendo le antiche ricette di famiglia senza conservanti
