The Explorer

Floral and fruity, with hints of roses, full-bodied but with soft tannins, elegant with a fruity aftertaste. Dark garnet red color. The vinification in purity for Colorino confirms the attention paid to the producer more for quality than quantity. It can be paired with first courses with meat sauce, with meat or roast main courses, with aged cheeses.

Colorino is a native grape variety, genetically child of Sangiovese. It is a grape with a very small berry which leads to very low yields. In the Il Corno estate, a company clone was discovered that derives from nineteenth-century plants with a free foot that allows the vinification of Colorino even in purity.

It gives an impenetrable red wine that is extremely long-lived: it can age in the bottle for even 20-30 years without problems.

Wine very complex, harmonic but well balanced.

ORGANOLEPTIC NOTES:

Smell: the bouquet is broad, complex, fruity with tones of red fruit that brings us back to the Italian undergrowth, where the blackberry stands out, highlighting countless tertiary aromas, which elegantly touch hints of pepper, tobacco, cocoa bean, leather, oak. The note of leather and vanilla is elegant.
Palate: soft, lively, moderately tannic, balanced, elegant and persistent.
Pairings: It is a meditation wine that can be combined with red meats, furred game and aged cheeses. But above all it goes well with good company. This wine offers great Tuscan sensations.

Recommended combinations

A wine for the whole meal but which can also be drunk alone with extreme pleasure, almost as if it were a meditation wine. It goes well with structured first courses (ragù for example) or meat dishes which are also structured. It is generally used to drink with Tuscan cuisine.

Tenuta Il Corno
