The Forconi family history, they were already operating in the vineyards of Montespertoli at the beginning of the 19th century. Fabrizio continues the tradition of winemakers, mainly cultivating native vines grown according to scrupulous cultivation practices. At the right degree of ripeness, the grapes are hand-picked and also hand-selected. It is a red wine obtained from Sangiovese grapes grown on the Tuscan hills on the Tuscan hills 7 km from Montespertoli and 10 km from San Casciano in Val di Pesa, an area known as “Vigna della Querce”, the oldest still in production and in part of the “Ingannamatti” vineyards. PRODUCTION AREA: Medium hill on the east and south-east side, 7 km from Montespertoli and 10 km from S. Casciano VP, from the “Vigna della Querce”, the oldest still in production and from part of the “Ingannamatti” vineyards

TYPE OF SOIL:  soil of calcareous conglomerates and gravels.

ANNUAL PRODUCTION: 20,000 Bordeaux

BREEDING SYSTEM: Spurred cordon

VARIETIES:  100 % Sangiovese

PECULIARITIES OF THE GRAPE VARIETIES: They come from the company's native clonal heritage and from new clonal selections of Sangiovese.

VINIFICATION: In traditional red in stainless steel, maceration for about 15 days at a controlled temperature

AGING: in stainless steel tank and 30% in barrique for 10 months

ALC GRADE:  14,5 %

TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.6 gr./L

DRY NET EXTRACT:  30 gr./L

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS:

View: Intense ruby red.

Smell: Fruity red fruit ripe like cherry and plum, accompanied by floral scents such as irises.

Taste: Round, pleasant, balanced with warm and sweet aftertaste.

La storia si ripete! Si potrebbe iniziare così a raccontare il Podere dell'Anselmo in onore di Fabrizio che perpetua con passione l'arte di fare il vino. La famiglia Forconi ha infatti un'antica vocazione per la viticoltura che risale forse agli inizi dell'Ottocento, come mezzadri della famiglia Antinori. Fabrizio non solo è fiero di portare avanti la tradizione ma addirittura si potrebbe dire che la passione è tale che ne scandisce i ritmi personali, quando può parlare dei suoi vini, farli degustare o raccontare dei suoi metodi di coltivazione "senza la chimica" per preservare la complessità microbiologica o combattendo i parassiti con la "confusione sessuale", non si risparmia, anzi è sempre felice di poter accogliere i visitatori e trasmettere i valori che troveranno nel calice.
